Moving up a little bit

This last few weeks has proven very profitable for me. Well, maybe not to all the high rollers out there. Maybe I'll be joining them in the future. That would kick ass.

So here's a quick recap of the last 21 days.

My company decided to unofficially hold a holdem tourney once a week. Only a $10 buyin, so it's pretty small change, but still fun. So far, it's been between 10 and 15 people per tourney (3 total). I've won all of them, so far.
$140 Profit

Then, last Friday one of my friends held a tourney at his house with about 20 people. $25 buyin. I won that as well.
$225 Profit

Starting the same night, I began running $10+1 SnG's on Party. Went on a crazy streak, picking up 1st 3 times, 2nd 4 times and 3rd 2 times out of 15 tournaments.
$145 Profit

And then there was last night. A local bar holds a rebuy tourney 2 times a week that I haven't been to in a least a month or two, and I heard it was the last one that they're doing, so I decided to check it out. Jesus, what a horrible structure it had (in every way). There were 16 entries with a $25 buyin, $5 of which goes to the house. 2 rebuys, and 1 addon both which are also $25 (House doesn't take anything from rebuy/addon). And they only pay 2 positions. That's fucking insane. I lost a few chips early on with pocket 8's to a flopped set, but he checked it down to the river, and then min-bet, so I came out fairly cheap. Made a lot of good reads/plays and ended up taking 1st.
$435 Profit

-----

So all in all, over the last 3 weeks, my tournament profit weighs in at a total of $945.

Not bad.

"Operator, damnit!"

Ever get tired of calling someone for help with a problem, and getting stuck with a semi-retarded automated help system instead of speaking with a low-level human that you deserve?

What makes a better concubine? Donkey or fish?

Bankroll OnlinePoker SnG

Just a quick update. I've been running pretty well financially, both in poker and business. I'm starting up a small home-based company with a friend of mine which will deal primarily with computer consultation/database management, at least to start. If things go well, we might try to lease a building and hire a few people. I figure that anything like that is at least a couple years down the road, but I'm excited. I'll post the website when we get everything set up.

Poker-wise, it's been interesting. I just started a semi-SnG challenge. Last night, I played 9 SnG's and here's the stats on them:

$10 + 1 10 person SnG

1st - 1
2nd - 3
3rd - 2
4th - 2
5th - 0
6th - 1
7th - 0
8th - 1
9th - 0

Amount Invested/Won: $110 / $180
ITM%: 60%
ROI%: 63%

As acknowledged by reading other blogs, I'm aware that this is an unsustainable average, but it's nice to start off with a bang. :)

I also have been playing a lot of limit (B&M) which is very unusual for me. The group I play with plays SHORT (which is sort of the same thing as HORSE, just in a different order).

Stud
Hold'em
Omaha 8 or better
Razz
Triple Draw (dealers choice if there are more than 6 players)

Last night, I got kind of drunk while playing, but still managed to crush the table with my loose blind raising, and live straddling. On one hand, we actually managed to get everyone to straddle/re-straddle, around to the button, making the preflop pot 21 small bets before the cards were even dealt. Then of course it was capped and everyone called preflop, putting it somewhere close to 40 small bets I think. Yeah. It was a fun night. And I left with 1.5x my original buyin.

Good times. No more thoughts right now. More to come soon.
